Analysis of web of science scientific publications related to youtube
YouTube is a popular online platform for sharing content in video format. Its usefulness for entertainment, education or business is well known among users. However, how has YouTube been used in research? This paper conducted a literature search aimed at describing the existing landscape of articles that include YouTube as a research element and that were published in Web of Science (WOS)-indexed journals from 2006 to 2021. The results revealed that interest in YouTube has been growing over the years and that the United States leads this type of research. The papers are mostly published in English language in areas such as communication, environmental and occupational public health, education, and information systems. The publishers that most publish this type of articles are Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, and Sage. The most cited paper was published in 2012 and has 448 citations. Thus, it can be concluded that YouTube is a cross-cutting issue that has had a multidisciplinary approach. It is estimated that YouTube will continue to be a recurring subject of research as long as it remains active and popular.
1. Años: 1900-01-01 a 2021-12-31
