Patients: A Literature R re Review ABSTRACT Pressure ulcers are a problem that develops over time, resulting from the death of tissue in the skin due to pressure on a protruding bone. The main objective is to review the efficacy of methods to prevent pressure ulcers (PU) in hospital patients through a literature review, recognizing the most
effective
tactics and their results in reducing the frequency, severity and problems related to these wounds. The methodology
was
based
on
a
literature
review
of
accepted
scientific
databases
such
as:
PubMed,
Scopus, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, Google Scholar, Spanish and English documents five or eight years old. The results show that the most used position change scales in the ICU were the Braden and Norton scales, t , the s e scales f s facilitate t e the c e care p e provided by the nu he nursing staff as pos s position cha n changes every 2 t 2 to 4 hours. As a s a conclusion, t , the m e most effective t e tactics to decrease the f e frequency, se , severity and pr and problems of s of pressure ulcers in hospitalized patients are the Norton scale, repositioning of the hospital bed every 2- 3 hour 3 hours, t s, the us e use of e of pressure redistribution d on devices and immediate a e attention by on by the nursing staff.
