Eficacia y Seguridad de la Terapia con Oxígeno Sobresaturado en el Manejo del Infarto Agudo de Miocardio
Resumen
El infarto agudo de miocardio (IAM) es una condición médica crítica que genera un impacto devastador en la salud pública y los sistemas de atención médica; por ello es imperativo abordar nuevos enfoques y tratamientos que puedan mejorar los resultados clínicos y reducir la carga de esta enfermedad. La terapia con oxígeno sobresaturado ha surgido como una potencial intervención prometedora en el manejo del IAM. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la eficacia y seguridad de la terapia con oxígeno sobresaturado (SSO2) en la morbimortalidad de pacientes con IAM. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica, basada en artículos de revistas de alto impacto en relevancia con el objetivo. Estudios multicéntricos y aleatorizados, como el AMIHOT I, AMIHOT II e IC-HOT, demuestran que la eficacia y seguridad de la terapia con SSO2 es superior en el manejo del IAM frente a los tratamientos estándares, ya que la tasa de éxito es mayor al 98%; de los beneficios directos están que el tamaño medio del infarto disminuye, el segmento ST se reestablece y la incidencia de insuficiencia cardiaca post infarto es más baja, por otro lado, los efectos adversos de la terapia son mínimos (<8%). En conclusión, la administración de la terapia con SS02 dentro del manejo del IAM es eficaz y segura según los objetivos a los cuales se remite la naturaleza de la terapia, ya que demuestra reducir la morbimortalidad a corto y largo plazo.
