Obesidad y Síndrome de Ovario Poliquístico en Edad Fértil
Resumen
Las féminas en edad fértil que padecen obesidad y síndrome de ovario poliquístico (SOP) tienen una relación complicada que repercute enormemente en su salud metabólica y reproductiva. A través de un análisis exhaustivo de la literatura científica publicada entre 2020 y 2024, este estudio pretende comprender este vínculo. El estudio se recopiló a partir de fuentes reputadas como PubMed y Google Scholar utilizando una metodología descriptiva y cualitativa. Según las conclusiones, la obesidad agrava los síntomas del SOP, como la resistencia a la insulina, el hiperandrogenismo y la inflamación crónica, aumentando el riesgo de problemas cardiovasculares y reproductivos. Las intervenciones más eficaces se distinguen por su carácter integral, que incorpora estrategias de control del peso, ajustes del estilo de vida, tratamiento farmacológico (metformina y agonistas del GLP-1) y planes dietéticos específicos. Se destaca que para mejorar los indicadores metabólicos y hormonales es necesario un primer descenso del peso corporal del 5-10%. Esta investigación pone de relieve la importancia de las terapias personalizadas para mejorar los resultados clínicos y la calidad de vida de las mujeres con obesidad y SOP.
