Perfil del CEO y desempeño financiero en emprendimientos sociales en Latinoamérica: evidencia de Ecuador
Resumen
Este estudio investiga la relación entre el perfil emprendedor del CEO y el desempeño financiero en el retorno sobre el patrimonio (ROE) en las empresas sociales de Guayaquil, Ecuador. Un enfoque cuantitativo transversal se utilizó para evaluar las percepciones de los empleados en cuanto a rasgos, valores, estilos de liderazgo y atributos CEO por medio del análisis factorial exploratorio. La información financiera se obtuvo de bases de datos gubernamentales. Tres perfiles del CEO se identificaron, siendo el “Líder Visionario y Servicial”, el cual se caracteriza por ser un líder transformacional, emprendedor, sensible, inteligente, benevolente y con enfoque universalista. El único que influyó positivamente en el ROE, confirmado por el análisis de regresión. Este estudio ofrece evidencia empírica acerca de cómo ciertos estilos de liderazgo están asociados con el mejor desempeño financiero en las empresas sociales de mercados emergentes. Augurando así su sostenibilidad en el largo plazo. Finalmente, se proyecta relevancia práctica para la selección y desarrollo de programas de desarrollo de futuros líderes emprendedores sociales.
