Resumen
Este estudio examina el significado y la función del término griego τέλειος en Mateo 5:48, proponiendo una interpretación que distingue entre perfeccionismo superficial y la perfección cristiana como un proceso ético y moral fundamentado en la gracia divina. A través de un análisis exhaustivo de la literatura grecorromana, la literatura del Segundo Templo y otros textos cristianos tempranos, se demuestra que τέλειος implica madurez espiritual y reflejo del amor divino, más que una ausencia de defectos. Mateo 5:48 invita a emular las obras de amor y misericordia de Dios, sugiriendo que la perfección cristiana se alcanza mediante la transformación continua y el crecimiento en sabiduría y amor divino, no por mérito humano o la observancia estricta de la ley.
