Lectura Interpretada del Hemograma en Pediatría: Enfoque Actualizado y Aplicaciones Clínicas

Resumen

El hemograma es una de las pruebas de laboratorio más utilizadas en pediatría para evaluar el estado de salud en general y detectar patologías hematológicas e infecciosas. Históricamente, su interpretación ha evolucionado desde los recuentos manuales hasta la automatización,  permitiendo análisis rápidos y precisos. Sin embargo, persisten desafíos en la interpretación adecuada en pacientes pediátrico, esta revisión narrativa tiene como objetivo proporcionar herramientas y un enfoque actualizado para su correcta interpretación en estos pacientes, integrando ámbitos fisiológicos y patológicos.  Un entendimiento profundo de los valores normales por edad, junto con la aplicación clínica de algoritmos y apoyo de pruebas adicionales, permite distinguir estos cambios; se propone desarrollar flujogramas para el abordaje,  orientado según los hallazgos de los valores referencia del hemograma, incluyendo herramientas complementarias,  permitiendo mejorar la precisión y eficiencia diagnóstica.
