Biología Molecular una Alternativa Diagnóstica Eficaz en el Estudio de la Geohelmintosis

Resumen

La identificación de parasitosis desatendidas ha sido un importante problema de salud pública debido a su bajo límite de detección con metodología tradicional. El uso de herramientas moleculares en el diagnóstico ha permitido incrementar el límite de detección otorgando un resultado más certero y permitiendo la detección temprana de estas infecciones. Bajo este contexto, la presente revisión bibliográfica plasma las técnicas moleculares utilizadas para la identificación de cinco parasitosis Ancylostoma duodenale, Ascaris lumbricoides, Angiostrongylus cantonensis, Necator americanus, Strongyloides stercoralis, importantes por su impacto en la población y por su subestimación en prevalencia
