Imágenes diagnosticas para crisis febriles: ¿carentes de utilidad clínica?

Resumen

Metodología: Se realizó una revisión narrativa a través de diversas bases de datos de enero de 2000 a junio de 2021; la búsqueda y selección de artículos fue llevada a cabo en revistas indexadas en idioma español e inglés. Resultados:. Las neuroimagenes son herramientas fundamentales en la práctica médica, esenciales para el diagnóstico de patologías del sistema nervioso; sin embargo, el uso indiscriminado en situaciones donde no son de utilidad generan un mayor gasto en salud como en el caso de las crisis febriles. Conclusiones: La presente revisión a clara que los estudios imagenológicos como TAC y RM, carecen de utilidad clínica en paciente pediátricos menores de 5 años posterior a crisis convulsiva.
