Salud Mental de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes de una Comunidad Pesquera al Norte de México.
Resumen
Introducción/objetivo: La evidencia muestra también que los niños y niñas que viven en contextos rurales presentan mayor carga emocional relacionada con condiciones estructurales adversas. En la adolescencia, estas vulnerabilidades estructurales se traducen en riesgos adicionales. Este estudio tuvo el objetivo general de identificar las características sociodemográficas predictoras de síntomas de salud mental en niños, niñas y adolescentes de una comunidad pesquera al norte de México. Método: En una muestra de 159 menores, se aplicó una cédula de datos sociodemográficos y la Medida de Síntomas Transversales de Nivel 1 en Salud Mental del DSM-5. Resultados: Los resultados de la regresión logística binaria, llevada a pasos, mostraron el efecto de las variables sociodemográficas independientes sobre la probabilidad de ocurrencia de los niveles de la variable dependiente en tres pasos (X2=8.09, p < .05), resultando el nivel de la escolaridad la variable predictora de los síntomas de salud mental. Conclusiones. Se subraya la necesidad de adoptar enfoques integrales que incorporen variables individuales, ambientales y estructurales para comprender las trayectorias del desarrollo psicológico y diseñar estrategias de intervención más eficaces.
