Sindrome de fahr reporte de caso en adulta mayor con convulsiones y deterioro neurocognitivo de inicio tardio
Resumen
El síndrome y la enfermedad de fahr tienen origen distinto, pero comparten un mismo sustrato clínico y hallazgo imagenológico; en ambas se ven las calcificaciones de los ganglios de la base la corteza y parte de la sustancia blanca que junto con las alteraciones motrices sensitivas y de la función cognitiva son el común denominador para ambas entidades, este articulo revisa la presentación del síndrome de fhar en una mujer añosa con antecedente de hipoparatiroidismo posterior a tiroidectomía total, permite ver los mecanismos fisiopatológicos subyacentes, la manera cómo evoluciona la enfermedad y en quienes sospecharla, al final se hace una revisión del tratamiento que hasta el momento es únicamente con intención paliativa y de rehabilitación.
