Autoestima en pacientes femeninas con diagnóstico oncológico: un estudio descriptivo
Resumen
El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el nivel de autoestima en pacientes femeninas con diagnóstico oncológico de dos instituciones de salud del Ecuador. Se adoptó una metodología basada en el enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, con nivel no experimental y corte transversal. La muestra fue seleccionada por el método de muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia y estuvo conformada por 60 pacientes con diagnóstico oncológico, con edades comprendidas entre los 25 y 60 años. Para la recolección de datos sociodemográficos se utilizó un cuestionario ad hoc y la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg (EAR); el análisis estadístico se efectuó con el programa SPSS versión 25. Los resultados mostraron el predominio del nivel elevado de autoestima con el 61,7%; en cuanto a la edad, no se hallaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre la autoestima y los rangos de edad: adultez joven, adultez intermedia y adultez tardía, concluyendo que no existe una variación significativa entre el nivel de autoestima y las edades de los grupos estudiados.
