Ansiedad en la producción oral del inglés como lengua extranjera; prácticas y estrategias para minimizar sus efectos en los estudiantes

Resumen

La ansiedad es un factor afectivo que afecta el desarrollo de la producción oral de una lengua extranjera, que suele ser ignorada en el proceso de aprendizaje de idiomas, a pesar de sus efectos negativos en el desarrollo de las competencias comunicativas. En este artículo de reflexión, se exponen las causas y efectos de la ansiedad que experimentan los aprendices de idiomas al realizar actividades orales; al igual que se exponen prácticas y estrategias que permiten a los estudiantes tener mayor control de sus emociones. La metodología usada fue la revisión documental de investigaciones realizadas en los últimos diez años, sobre prácticas y estrategias para reducir la ansiedad en la producción oral de los estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera, las cuales fueron analizadas a través de la interpretación hermenéutica. Los hallazgos muestran la necesidad de seguir indagando sobre prácticas y estrategias, que ayuden a minimizar la ansiedad que genera aprender un nuevo idioma, al igual que instruir a docentes y estudiantes en el manejo de la ansiedad dentro del salón de clases.
