Exploración Bibliométrica de la Investigación sobre Cuidadores y Pacientes con Parkinson: 2018-2024

Resumen
La enfermedad de Parkinson es una condición neurodegenerativa incurable que afecta a adultos mayores, causando deterioro cognitivo y motor por la pérdida de dopamina; además de trastornos del sueño y del estado de ánimo. Esto requiere cuidadores para las actividades diarias y apoyo emocional que generalmente son mujeres jóvenes que enfrentan desafíos significativos en su propia salud mental y bienestar. El propósito del artículo es realizar una exploración en la bibliografía existente en el mundo académico respecto a los Cuidadores y Pacientes con Parkinson. Este estudio utiliza una metodología mixta, combinando bibliometría para analizar la producción científica del campo a estudio, en donde se observaron 1265 artículos académicos publicados en la base de datos Scopus y se realizó una revisión sistemática como resultado del acoplamiento bibliográfico. Los resultados revelan 5 clústeres como deterioro cognitivo, síntomas psiquiátricos, sobrecarga de cuidadores, tecnologías sanitarias y el Alzheimer como problema de salud pública. Para el futuro de los cuidadores de pacientes con Parkinson, es esencial avanzar en la investigación y desarrollo de estrategias que combinen enfoques interdisciplinarios. Se puede concluir que existe una necesidad de capacitación de los cuidadores adoptando una perspectiva holística que considere tanto los aspectos técnicos como los humanos del cuidado.
