Resumen

La expansión del maxilar es un procedimiento de larga data, puede ser ortopédico mecánico o quirúrgico usado para corregir la corrección de anomalías dentales y esqueléticas como para la mejora de la función respiratoria en algunos pacientes. El abordaje y técnica usada siempre será un procedimiento para considerar por un estomatólogo siempre individualizando el enfoque terapéutico para optimizar los resultados y minimizar las posibles complicaciones. Debido a la importancia que presenta este tema para el área estomatológica, planteamos un estudio que tiene como objetivo conocer las técnicas y abordajes tanto quirúrgicos como conservadoras que existen en la práctica odontológica.
