Intervención de Enfermería en Paciente Cuadripléjico y Vejiga Neurogénica por Lesión Medular Cervical
Resumen
El presente estudio describe el abordaje integral de enfermería en un paciente adulto con cuadriplejía y vejiga neurogénica secundaria a lesión medular cervical, destacando el impacto de las intervenciones enfermeras basadas en la taxonomía NANDA-I (2024–2026), NOC y NIC. Se aplicó el Proceso de Atención de Enfermería en sus cinco etapas, empleando los Patrones Funcionales de Salud de Marjory Gordon para una valoración holística. El diagnóstico principal fue “Deterioro de la eliminación urinaria” relacionado con lesión medular y relajación del esfínter, tratado mediante cuidados del drenaje urinario aséptico, higiene perineal, educación al paciente y su cuidador, y vigilancia continua de signos infecciosos. Los resultados mostraron eliminación controlada, ausencia de infección activa y piel íntegra. Paralelamente, se implementaron medidas preventivas de úlceras por presión (cambios posturales programados, superficies de alivio y cuidados dérmicos) y apoyo emocional para fortalecer la autoestima y el afrontamiento ante la discapacidad. El seguimiento interdisciplinario permitió mantener la estabilidad clínica y prevenir nuevas complicaciones. Este caso evidencia que el rol de enfermería es esencial para optimizar la calidad de vida y la autonomía del paciente con lesión medular, reafirmando la necesidad de protocolos estandarizados y de investigación aplicada que integren prácticas de autocuidado, educación sanitaria y uso de herramientas digitales de seguimiento domiciliario.
