Absceso Presacro en un Paciente con Cáncer Rectal en Tratamiento: Reporte de Caso
Resumen
El cáncer colorrectal (CCR) es el tercer cáncer más frecuente y la segunda causa de mortalidad por cáncer a nivel mundial de acuerdo con la Agencia Internacional para la Investigación sobre el Cáncer (IARC). Entre estos casos, el cáncer de recto (CR) representa el 28% de todos los CCR. A pesar de que el manejo actual reconoce a la terapia neoadyuvante como pilar fundamental del tratamiento de los estadios clínicos II y III, existen complicaciones que puede desencadenar, en particular asociadas a la radioterapia (RT), como la proctitis y, en consecuencia, la formación de abscesos perirrectales, incluido el absceso presacro. La patogénesis no está del todo comprendida, debido a su baja frecuencia y a que la mayoría de los reportes establecen su relación tras un evento quirúrgico, más no en ausencia de este. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar el caso clínico de un paciente con absceso presacro asociado al tratamiento neoadyuvante del cáncer de recto, sin intervención quirúrgica previa, atendido en el Hospital Universitario de Puebla.
