Intervención Educativa en Jóvenes Obesos para Reducción de Índice de Masa Corporal y Cintura Cadera
Resumen
Objetivo: Evaluar el efecto de una intervención educativa en la reducción de índice de masa corporal y relación cintura /cadera en adultos jóvenes con obesidad. Método: Estudio cuasiexperimental, comparativo, prospectivo, longitudinal, homodemico y unicéntrico, que se llevó a cabo en la Unidad de Medicina Familiar 12. En 150 adultos jóvenes de 25 a 44 años se realizaron 8 sesiones quincenales durante cuatro meses, cuyo soporte técnico se deriva de la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-043-SSA2-2012 y Vargas y cols. Resultados: En 150 pacientes posterior a la intervención educativa una disminución de grados de obesidad a sobrepeso, así como reducción en cintura cadera de bajo riesgo en 44.7%. La prueba de Wilcoxon se obtuvo una p significativa de < 0.005. Conclusión: existe un efecto favorable de la intervención educativa en la reducción de índice de masa corporal e índice cintura cadera en los pacientes adultos jóvenes y la importancia de este grupo etario.
